AVM updates

I also had this same question, somebody reply.

All those lucky bas.... who got approved, tell me one thing.

When you check AVM and it says approved, does it tell you that your 485 was approved on what date? Is it the same day you check AVM or usually 3-4 days later, the AVM message changes?

I don't know if I am clear enough.
 
Throughout the day

From what I have read it gets updated throughout the day.

There have been occasions when people heard approvals at 2 PM but not at 8 AM on the same day.

My advice is to check it at about 9:30 - 10:00 PM. But even at that time the line seems to be busy
 
AVM updates whenever it feels like!

It is actually pretty weird ...

I had called up on Aug 02 at 2:30p PST and got the usual 'Finger print review blah blah blah .... ' but out of curiosity tried again at 5:30p PST and then the message said 'This application has been approved on Aug 2 ... '

Somehow, AVM updations are very prompt for i-485 when compared to other cases. I had seen AVM being updated on the same day in mine and couple of other cases too.
 
Probably the AVM system is linked to the INS computer where a change of status is immediately reflected in the AVM too. I don't know. Its just my guess!! (I would be surprised if INS is that advanced)
