Can any body tell me the details regarding the automatic revalidation rule?
My visa status in USA is H1 and my current I-797 expires in May 2007.My H1 visa on passport has expired long back in 2005.I'm going to Canada this weekend and coming back to USA in 2 days. Is there any link in USCIS site for this?

Per my understanding, I need these following documents

-Current Original I-797

-Reference letter from the company saying I'm working there

-Current I-94 (Which comes attached along with the I-797)

Please let me know If I need anything else.

Thanks

automatic revalidation ? is same as visa rest restamping

can someone make me understand automatic revalidation, is it an alternative to restamping of visa , in my case i have had my H1b renewed Feb 2006 , but the visa on my passport expired(2006) , so can i go to Canada
1. without getting a canadian visitor visa
2. and come back with automatic revalidation of the visa till 2009,
3. or i still have to get
a) canadian visitor visa first
b) and then get an appt at nvars.com for visa stamping ( for H1b renewal)
thanks

----------------if you have H1 approval and I-94 expiry date is till 2009

-----Better take the visa appointment then apply for Canada visitor visa .you can get Canada visa same day you apply or if by mail in 4-5 days.

online dates for US embassy in canada

right now no dates are available online for US consulate any where in canada for visa appt , i heard one should try online late right or early am , is it true , any way out to get earlier date

is this automatic an alternative to the stamp though? Do they issue you a new stamp?

I don't think so... all it is that you can enter back in the US without the stamp and you get a new I-94 with longer validity. However, if you then plan to go to Europe or another place, you'll still need a stamp to come back... if i am correct?

Automatic visa revalidation is only for going to Canada/Mexico less than 30 days. Why don’t you read the link posted in earlier post???
