Automatic citizenship for mother of US born baby

Hi All,

Please clarify:

A non-immigrant ( H1/H4 status ) mother has given birth to a baby ( Male or Female) in US and hence the baby becomes a citizen of US by birth. My question is " Is there any law in US that provides an automatic US citizenship for the mother of US born baby or does it provide any automatic extension to stay in this country if she looses her H1/H4 status.

Only the baby is entitled to US Citizenship. The mother is not entitled. A child can sponsor a parent for Permanent Residenc only after the child reaches the age of 21 (or 18). I am sure someone else can clarify that.
