It felt good to see the numbers go up (on Rupnet from 23 to 28).

Get ready rest of Augusters.

I wonder at INS\'s randomness.

The August approval we have seen in last few days are either end 0f the month or beginning.
Why can they not do it in a sequential manner.

Randomness Sucks

If they would have been sequential, you would not have any pending june, july cases. BTW my RD is July 12th and I am still waiting. It all depends if you are lucky to be picked up in the randomness and get approved.

Also,

It looks like they want to create the impression that EAC-02-X cases (which pertain to next processing year, going by ND) has started.

To ivar1us

Have you tried speaking with an IIO? I read on this board that many July files were in backlog area (if FP was not ready by Feb-March). If so, you can request the IIO to move your file in the adjudication area. Just a thought....

Wish you goodluck!

July guys please call IIO to have your cases processed!

We have seen your guys for too longgggggggg

They assign cases to officers sequentially. As complexity of cases vary, approval does not occur seq

Spoke 6 times to IIO

Since Last 3 months I called 6 times so far, but got the same reply all the times. We are processing cases of Aug 1(ND) and yours is Aug 28. So it is going to take a couple of months more. First time I called the IIO said it is going to be 30 to 60 days. Last time I called yesterday, she said it is going to be couple of more months. 2 weeks back a male guy said it is going take 60 to 90 days. So the no. of days to get approved goes on increasing every time I call. I also asked all the times, when will it get assigned to an officer. The reply was can\'t say, it is pending. I also asked once whether it is possible for you to assign it to an officer, the reply was No!!.

My FP was done on Nov. 15th and the FP results have been received by INS and they look good. The FP results were verified by all the IIO\'s so far I called.

Now I am not going to call IIO as I am afraid, that calling them many times might put my case further behind. Also for your information, my Labor was approved in July 1999. So it is more than 3 years that my GC process is going on.

May not be random pick, but the procedure itself seems to make it random.

As an example:
Lets say there are 10 files August of which some has I-140 for AOS and some CP. If first two are AOS, they will be assigned. If 3rd to 7th are CP, these will be put aside in other shelf. Hence 3rd will be in the bottom. Now 8ths I-140 is AOS.It will be assigned. Again 9th and 10th will be for CP. So on the other shelf, 3 will be the last and 10 will be at the top. Meanwhile we see the approvals of 1,2 and 8. As they finished 10 files of August, they move to September. May be this is the way they follow. Hence we may see Aug and also Sep approvals.

One person\'s job may be putting AOS in a different shelf and CP in a different one. Another person\'s job may be to request the I-140s from Consulates. After recieving, one more person\'s job may be to put the respective I-140s from mail room to respective files which are pending. On one fine day, this pending bunch will be assigned as it has all the documents.

I guess that\'s why we see, lot of approvals of 2000Pds and at-a-time approvals of 98,99PDs now. Most of the 2000 PDs would have filed for AOS immediately after the approval of I-140. Added to this, there are lot of applications filed. So that\'s why this delay.

Appreciate comments on this. Thank you.

Workload at INS

INS has clearly documented Procedures; but it is handled by the Contract staff and the files are arranged and distributed by them; maybe they are untrained or just goofing up.
See the attached document on the Workload distribution and handling at INS service centers.
