Aug'01 case transferred to HARTFORD, Connecticut

Anyone whose I-485 case is transferred to HARTFORD, Connecticut for Interview. Please share your valuable experience.

1. What does exactly it means to transfer the case to local office for interview.
2. Is it a good or Bad sign.
3. Do they would like to see Tax returns in person ?
4. What kind of documents they need, or I am suppose to have during the interview ?
5. Is it becuase of the lawyer's mistake anywhere in forms ?
6. Any fingerprinting problem ?
7. Any problem with I-94 ?
8. Very close Passport Expiration date?
9. Very Close to Visa Expiration date, altough EAD and AP date is far from it?

Please forgive me, if asking for more questions
 
Dont Worry

Your case could have been transferred for none of the reasons you worry about. Wait till you get the letter from the CT office before you panic. Trust me this is routine and maybe the INS feels that the local office could handle some of the case load.

Your stay in the US is valid till such time a decision is made by the INS on your 485 application. So eben if your visa expires it does not mean anything.

Now i heared the AVM, it says

"we transfer your 485 application to adjust permenant resident status to our office in boston, Massachusests, to schedule and conduct the interview. Scheduling can take several months. We will notify you when they schedule the interview or take other action on your case."

Is it the same message you also heared. Please reply me.

From what I heard, it is not a problem even if case is transferred. INS does that on a routine basis for quality control. As per Attorney Murthy's Chat about 10-20% cases get transferred to Local offices for Quality Control Puposes. So it is not correct to assume that there is something wrong with your case. Relax and just wait for the interview. Most of the INS officers at the interview are very cool and friendly. So it would be a smooth sail.
