Guys,

Just called IIO and wanted share my thoughts. Today I got to hear a new story from an IIO (Jane) that my case has been "re-assigned" to an officer on 10/28/02 and have to wait for couple of weeks more.

Earlier when I called on 09/27/02, I was told that my case was assigned on 09/21/02 to an officer and I should hear some thing with in a month.

It is always a mystery with INS what they do and why they do. My case was pending for a month and then has been "re-assigned" that is really painful.....but for god sake atleast this officer should take a look at my case....and I hope my case won't be "re-assigned" again.

It is another proof

that INS designed a new procedure aiming to check the validity of applications.
They probably work closely with the Department of Labor which under pressure from unions tries to stop the flood of immigrants while the local workers can not find jobs.

Thats true..that the DOL will be scrutinizing applications more...
That is true for people filing Labors now...

But for 485..U are wrong almost_free..
and surely nobody here needs UR free advice...

This is normal of INS doing all these..Anybody who has been on this forum for a while knows how erratic INS is...

So no need to scare anybody ...Most of us are allready "fool" Proof..

Either the first IIO lied or the second one.

Happened with me also, When I called on Oct 8 the info was the application was assigned to an officer on Sep 30 ( very frendly IIO) when I called on Oct 30 for address change the info is it is not yet assigned (IIO is like why the f... ).

What ever it is I have wait till it is approved.
 
Reassigning a case could mean the previous IIO is now on leave for some reason .. or it's just a matter of load redistribution.
