Attention all Chicago Tranferees

All,
Do Not waste your time trying to inquire in person at the Chicago office. I went in today and the person at the counter says the same thing as the standard response. She has no clue on what the people scheduling the interviews are doing. No idea on the basis for interview dates whatsoever. What she will do is fill out an inquiry form and send it to the adjudicator section and we can expect a response in 90 days.....

In light of this, I propose that we proceed with signing a petition. Before I ask Mr Khanna's office to help prepare one, I need to know that I can get get at least 15 people that are willing to sign this and are willing to meet the Senators/Congressman in person to bring up our issues. We will also need one or two American citizens since the senators/congmen will probably pay more attention to voters.

We can either sit around and wait for the mail everyday or do something. No guarantees on the outcome, but at least we know that we've tried.

Go ahead, we are with you

I am with you in whatever endeavour you take which could ease our pain and suffering. Please keep us posted about the specifics of the part we can play in getting something done about the inordinate delay in adjudicating our cases.

I would be more than willing to commit time to this cause.

Thanks for the support, but....

Thanks everyone for volunteering. If you'll see http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=526131#post526131 BCIS Chicago's response to RD_0601 query on status, he was informed that background checks were being done on his case. It looks like we are all getting a consistent response from BCIS, which is not the one we want, but nevertheless is the same reponse no matter who asks it. I am not sure that we can achieve much by petitioning at this time. Sorry if this sounds like a cop out, but even my company attorney advised against strong action yet and suggested waiting for another 3 months before doing anything drastic. I guess we'll have to be a little more patient and see how things go.

Please count me in --I am ready for this effort and will join with you .

FP to Interview lead times

Someone had mentioned a 90 day lead time between FP and interview. Looks like it worked out for Oxygenman. Oxygenman, what is your exact Fp date and Interview notice date?

Dont we have a couple more case with FP's in April?? Mine is May '03

FP date

My wife's FP date was April 20th 2003
Her interview date is Aug 20th 2003. So it's about 120 days from the FP time.

not automatic approval

I believe several forums already have clarification on that.. Not automatic approval. I-140 revocation cannot be the sole reason for AC21 denial. As long as case has been pending >180 days and revocation happens after 180 days, BCIS cannot deny I485 See Murthy.com for details
