In a memo on 1/9/2008, AILA announced in a DOL Stakeholder Meeting Notes:

"In an effort to more effectively and efficiently manage both the TEMP (H-2A & H-2B) and PERM programs, the DOL will be specializing the work of the two NPCs. Chicago will handle only temporary cases and Atlanta will handle only permanent cases. DOL explained that this specialization will improve the administration of both the temporary and the permanent program and eliminate the need to coordinate processing dates for H-2Bs between the two centers, thus ensuring that H-2B visas are fairly allocated across the entire country. This specialization is currently planned to go into effect in the summer of 2008. The DOL is also hiring more personnel (both federal and contractor staff) for both centers."

YIKES....

Yikes... is right...

Does anyone have an idea how long Atlanta is taking for PERM cases? Are these numbers published as USCIS does for different categories?

No, they don't publish their processing times that I'm aware of. However, the memo that I quoted above also indicated they have a 'target processing time' of 45-60 days... although we have several cases approaching the 60 day mark and some over that time period, so who knows.
