Atlanta (ADO) Interview Today -- No Stamping.

I went to the Interview today at ADO. Took oath, provided fingerprints, and signatures with the new set of photographs. However, due to two different A#s on file for me, the officer could not approve and stamp it on the spot. She had to request the file to merge and consolidate before she could approve and stamp it. Hence the perpetual wait continues. The good thing is that the interview was simple and uneventful. The whole interview was over within a few minutes. EVLs, W2s, Tax Returns and Birth Certificate were asked. She dropped all of it in the file.

Now, the wait continues.

Congrats in advance....

Yes...the much awaited interview part is over. which is the main thing for transferred cases.

Hope you don't have to wait long befre they sort out A# no's and merge files.

did they give an estimate of how long the merging will take?

Will you have to return for another interview, or will they just approve and send you an approval letter?

Did they take your fingerprint, and make you sign the green card order form?

Did they take your EAD/AP away?

I did ask and she said as soon as the file is sent to her by the service. Technically, even they can put it in "today's mail" and so within a week it must be done. However, if the Service delays in dispatching the file, it will reflect in the delay in sending a final approval letter is what she said.

No further interviews. They will just approve and a letter will be sent.

Yes, they did. I was asked to give the right-index-finger print as well as sign the green-card form at two places.

Nope. They cannot do that because I have to have those during this period until I have my approval.

Any word on merging your A#files?

Is there any change in online status after your inteview...LUD, Message etc.

Thanks

Nope. Local Office files do not update online status.

The wait continues. Also, they never update online status if the files reach local office. In other words, you are in a state of limbo.

Hey Poon,braves2003,curiousgeorge.
sorry to hear poon that you still have to wait.
what abt your case, braves?
There is a update at my end. my wife's interview is finally scheduled on 06/14.
we just got the letter last saturday.
when we went last for Infopass in march, the nice officer that we got that day, then checked and said her FBI namecheck was already done.
Even though my e-mail ( from Jan) & postal mail ( from March) is still unreplied.
Best.

Now EAD transferred back to TSC from ADO..My woes continue

goastros:

Good luck with your spouse's interview. All will be well.

In the meantime, my EAD was transferred to ADO as well. When I went, they gave me the interim EAD, but couldn't approve the actual EAD on the transferred file. Rather, I was aghast to see that the EAD file was then transferred to TSC as it says, "we received your file HERE. It takes 30 to 90 days to process this kind of case." I am just about to freak out. What is this "HERE" mean? Since the online status updates only for Service Center cases, I presume it means at TSC. Now, why did ADO prefer to choose to transfer my EAD back to TSC is as interesting as to why it would have received my EAD petition from TSC in the first place.

All this ricocheting is going on unabated as the merging of A# files hasn't happened yet. So, after the interview is over, I am watching this Wimbledon with anxiety :)

I am also in the same boat

poon:

I am also in the same boat.
Applied for EAD2 renewal to Dallas Dist office(self and spouse) on 03/22/05.
Spouse had EAD interview on 04/25/05 and got her EAD.
Self case is transfered to TSC and I got a receipt with SRC#(dt 04/26/05) and waiting for my EAD.
I am not sure what is happening with my case.

Poon, any update in ur case ??

Sorry to hear abt your case, this mess with A# numbers is painful.
I am thinking your EAD being xferred back to TSC instead of ADO must have also got to do with the A#. that is the ADO has 1 A# and your EAD had the diff A#?
Just speculating.
Anyways, We just hit the 3 yr mark since we had filed our AOS (May 02)
I think curiousgeorge was before mine, braves2003 around me, and yours was right after me.
Sad that we all have & some are still going thru this pain.

Poong - I occasionally check in to see if your marathon is over. Disappointing to see that it is not yet. Have you contacted your congressman yet? I wish you a quick and successful end to your GC journey.

Transferred EAD is APPROVED yesterday.

goastros & picsarus:

Thanks folks. Guess what? I got my transferred EAD approved by TSC. That leaves me with my I-485 still pending at ADO. This is frustrating. I am sure that mine is the only I-485 that is stuck with ADO in that time range. I seriously doubt if there are any more 2002 filers with ADO. There just can't be.

BTW, while the transfer back to TSC by ADO has to do with A# mismanagement, I don't think I have different A#s on file for the EAD. Initially it was (3 years ago). After the anomaly was discovered, all my petitions were carrying the right A#. The problem with duplicate A# is that the original A# (about 4 years old) is still in their system and INS has to eliminate that A# so that all their systems show only one A# for this poor fallen soul. Only then they can go ahead and approve my I-485.

Any serious auditer who audits the process flows of INS (if at all they have one) will be shuddered to see how much of man and money related resources are wasted in this ricocheting of transfer of applications back and forth by INS on my case, where all that is needed is somebody to be dedicatedly working through the phones to get the files and just eliminate the duplicate and go ahead and approve it and archive the files for all eternity. Until that date, my life is hanging on with a damocle's sword.

Hey Poon,
couple of questions

1> I have rec'd a pink letter & then another white paper ( with English on 1 side & Spanish on the other) abt the list of documents to bring.
On this list, I noticed no 11.> Proof that the applicant was living in US on or before Dec 2000, for 245(i). DId you get that too ? If so what did you do abt that ?
2> Medical exam ? DId you redo it. Our exam otherwise was done in Apr 2002.
Thanks.

1) I never received anything in pink. I just got a standard template that they send to everybody. I was never asked to submit proof of legal stay for any time period and there was no mention about 245(i).
2) I just got a copy of the medicals in a sealed cover. I knew the date of the original test and so I didn't redo it. I also had the INS memo, should they have demanded new medicals. But the officer clearly told me that she doesn't need the medicals as it is already on file.

Good luck.

Waiting Continues.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raj:

I have attended AOS interview(Dallas Dist Office) on Jan 11 2005.Till now i did not hear any news from INS.In the interview the officer told me he is waiting for 140 and name check of primary applicant.
No good news on 140 or FBI name check.
Applied ead renewal at DDO and spouse got approved and my case was transfered to TSC.At last TSC approved my EAD.

140/485:ND mar 30 2004.
FBI mail: Jan 17 05. Waiting for response.
Contacted senetor and got reply:Application is in Quality Assurance Unit(QAU) and wait 90 days.I am not sure all the applications are in QAU or 485 application or 140 application.
I am planning to take info pass appt and find out the sts.
I am so frustated with TSC and DDO and FBI.

Poon, George, Thomas, Braves2003, Picsarus and all of my other buddies in this thread - I think now my other half is almost done. I have put our y'day interview experience below.
I was waiting for her GC, so we could apply for our new SSN cards. But since I had taken a day off y'day, I went ahead to apply for the new SSN.
My wife will apply for hers after her stamping.
