Hello all. I have a question again. For those who had their recent interview at the US Embassy. How long does it take before you can fly to the USA after your actual interview? Do they approve your US GC at the day of the interview or did you have to wait for their notice by mail? Thank you again.

Once the interview is cleared and provided if (this could be a big if) the CO do not request any other clearances the he/she might deem necessary (totally their discretion) visa could be issued the same day or next couple of days.
But if during the coarse of the interview the CO requests any additional clearances they will hand out a 221(g) letter which is a temporary denial until AP is cleared.
As soon as you have the visa in the Passport you can pretty much fly to US the same day if you please.

I had my interview today in london and my visa was approved. now awaiting passport and 'brown envelope' to be couriered to me in 7 to 10 days. can anyone advise me on how to get my husband and children (1 under 14 and 2 turning 21 in 2 day's time to travel at the same time with me to usa? we are all british citizens but my IR5 visa was approved today. very grateful for any help.

If your visa is of category IR5, that means you are the parent of the US citizen who petitioned you. Unfortunately, derivative visas are not available in that category. Your children cannot join you, and your husband also cannot join you unless he is the father (or stepfather*) of the petitioner, who would have to file another petition for your husband.

After you arrive in the US, you can petition for your children and husband, but the wait will be years (approx 3 years for your husband and teenager, more for the 21-year-old twins).

*to immigrate as a stepfather, you must have married him before your child (the petitioner) turned 18.
