Asylum or No Asylum..Need some counselling guys!

I can argue "if I put myself in the AO place" your wife is not in danger since she is in COP living safely. So it might not be the "absolutely safe" thing.

or why you applied in June 2010 ? did you feel more threatened in june?

try putting yourself in the AO place and begin making questions to yourself...

how about you all "family" apply for asylum when they visit you? specially that you indicated that the threat is on you, your wife and your child.

I guess, either way there is a lot to think about

Just curious to know, if asylum is denied, can wife come to the US on a multiple entry non-immigrant visa which is already valid AFTER DENIAL? Or will she be stopped at port of entry?

Also, can I apply for further studies in the US after my Masters? Will SEVIS deny apply my application because when I applied for asylum I displayed intent to immigrate?

I think I need a lawyer:D

Yes, you can apply for further studies after the completion of your master given that you meet the requirements for that but remember that If you were to travel abroad, you will not renew the F-1 visas since will have lost the non immigrant intent in applying for asylum.

Thanks ViaPalermo.

Does anyone know the answer to my earlier doubt:
Can my wife come to the US on a valid multiple entry non-immigrant visa AFTER (IF) ASYLUM IS DENIED? Or will she be stopped at port of entry

not sure. i had a friend who applied for an asylum but withdrew her case and went back to her country. She came on a multiple B2 visa but the DHS let her keep her visa after withdrawing her application of asylum. She said she was told by the DHS that she wont have any problem travelling back to the U.S but off course that depends on the inspector at the Point-of-entry lol
