Hi

I want to visit US at the earliest by travel visa and apply for political asylum.
Originally I from Russia, father from Syria, but lives in Russia for 25 years.
25 years old, not married, no children.
It is not a secret, that here in Russia it is hard to live for Arabs, to find work etc.
I can prepare evidences, but what exactly should I need?

Also I do not mind, how to live in US, awaiting for decision, can I earn money legally?
There i work in IT, but sure, that first time in US I will be forced to work at more simple work, to improve English, understand culture and so on..

Maybe someone have the same expiriece and can give some advices?

Thanks for replies.

hi

"hard to live or find job" is not enough reason to apply for asylum , also you didn't mention do you also have the Syrian , because its not in your interest if you have another Citizenship if you want to apply for asylum ,

you can apply for a work permit after 6 month until your asylum process ends or until you get approved

"it is hard to live for Arabs, to find work" IS NOT A REASON TO APPLY FOR ASYLUM.

Asylum is based on fear of persecution, as we can see, you don't have that. Asylum decision for Russians can take up to 1 year.

Sounds like a lot of BS to me. Don't take it personally but because of such applicants who just have a crazy though of how to move to the US, there are many people whose cases are delayed, postponed, etc. And these people have REAL reasons for seeking asylum. These are women who are raped in their native countries, these are people who have REAL fear of unlawful prosecution, torture, etc.

Maybe I'll be too harsh by saying that but from what you've told us so far, I hope that the consulate won't even give you a visa to the US. I'll take it back and wish best of you luck if you indeed have REAL (not imaginary) fears and problems in Russia.

I totally agree with you. "Life is really hard in California, I guess I will pack my things and move to the White House because life is better there" lol

I agree with you, life is hard in san Francisco, maybe I should move to Dubai and live in khalifa tower, hahahaha

You really think i will post there information, if I`ve been haunted, beaten, raped or something else?
I gave you just a short overview of my situation and I will never post such details in the internet.
Thank you for your wishes anyway.

Your "short overview" just talks about hard life to get a job but not hard life from persecution, threat or fear.
In your post, you mentioned job, IT and earning money legally here in the U.S. but not a single hint of any fear.
The reasons your chances are low-
1) Officer can tell if you are faking it which we all can tell right now by reading couple of lines of your thread.
2) You are already settled in Russia and your background is from Syria.
3) I don't see any news or articles regarding hunting of Arabs/Syrians in Russia. I think the government is okay.
4) Snowden got asylum in Russia so it might have some effect??? I hope not but just a guess.

Usually, just an economic hardship in one's country does not entitle him/her to an asylum benefit. To qualify for asylum, the persecution should be directed to the APPLICANT himself and it should be within at least ONE of these five characteristics:
- race
- religion
- nationality
- membership in a particular social group or
- political opinion.
