I had filed for Asylum in US on March 8th, 2010. Graduated from school on May 5th, 2010. I applied for OPT (Optical Practical Training) by filing EAD (I-765) as a F-1 student on May 3th, 2010. I had an asylum interview yesterday, July 12th, 2010. When I checked for case status for OPT, it is still in Initial review. It will take about 30 more days to get my asylum result. I was wondering what is my status now?

Is there any chances of my OPT getting denied, as I applied for asylum? Would I be able to maintain F-1 status if I join Masters' now?
