Hello everyone, I've filed for asylum in March 2012, around 3 months after my arrival to the US. I had my interview in August. I was given a pick up notice to get my decision in 2 weeks (Lyndhurst office).

When I went there, they told me the decision is not ready (which was a bummer since I have limited funds and had to travel all the way to NJ from NY by bus)

I followed up with the office last week after 40 days from my initial interview. They told me they're mailing the decision this week.

I'm super nervous! Did this happen to anyone - decision not ready after given a pick up notice? Is what happened (above) a bad sign? :( I'm super anxious and nervous.
 
stay calm man i'am pretty sure you're still on status,That's why it's taking so long.I know people who are still on hold for almost a year now at the some NJ office.on the other side ,I know some guys who are already referred to the judge after 2 weeks it's all about your immigration status by the time you've applied.
All you need is to hold your patience

Me too .... I had my interview before one month and I was given a pick up notice to get my decision in 2 weeks. But they told me the decision is not ready yet ..... I'm still in F1 status

1- how I can follow up with them
2- are you still in status
3- did you got approved

Can any one tell me please how I follow up with the asylum office.
I want to know when I will get there decision for my case.
