Asylum based i-485 and employment based adjustment

I am an asylee and asylum based I-485 is pending since 2002.

In addition I also have approved I-140 and my employment based I-485 under life act which is still pending at a local office for the past 8 months.
I went through employment based adjustment only to expedite the GC process as it will be years before I will get a GC through asylum. I came to this country legally and never overstayed the visa, even my visa was remained valid long after my asylum was approved.

My questions to thr respected forum are

1. Is it possible to have two I-485 applications an the system at the same time (Status inquiry revealed that they no longer allow more than one I-485 applications at a given time, previously they used to allow two adjustment applications and therefore the local office has referred my case to AAU for a decision, Without notifying me, so far I have not received any thing form INS in this regard) is this statement true? How can I find out the exact status of my case. There has been no activity on the INS website since the case was sent to the local office.

2. Would my employment based adjustment application have on any affect on my asylee based adjustment application and asylee status.

3. What outcome should I expect.Any professional response would be highly appreciated.

are you sure you have not lost you asylum status ? why do not ask your lawer to get the right answer? if you get the answer, let me know

I have the same situation. I am on an asylum status and my employer is ready to sponsor me. I contacted an employment-based attorneys. some said you can some others said no you can't. I contacted the USCIS three times.Every time I got a different answer. Finally , last week I went to my congressman asking for a written answer from the USCIS. My situation is a little bit different because I overstayed and that's what I am trying to figure out now. SO to answer your question, yes you can get your green card through employment and this is not going to affect by all means your asylum application. The USCIS immigration officer told me you can apply for as many adjustments as you want however once you are approved for one all the others will be automatically cancelled. Good luck. :)

H1 has nothing to do with green cards per se.

u r right. when w r talking w mean the whole process of getting a green card through employment and that of course includes going through labor certification process. :)
