hi everyone ,if some 1 is Asylum aproved in USA can aply for canada pr.Asylum was aproved in oct 2006.still have to wait until oct 2007 to aply green card.but can this person aply for skilled worker for canada .if can how long it takes for all this prosess .thanks for help in advance.

Canada Immigration skilled worker program is open to all class, all satus, US Citizen, or immigrants living in USA and natives of any other parts of the world, as long as you fulfill the requirements you will be entitled to a visa immigrant, regardless of your satus in the USA. The only thing "US & Canada" have in commun is the "Third Part Agreement" as far as applying for asylum. If you would apply for asylum in Canada, they would see that you already applied in the USA. Still when you apply for skilled worker program, they may see you asylum status but it would not affect your eligibility.

Go ahead and file. Best Luck.

thnaks for your reply.do you know how long it takes to get aproved for canada pr from usa.does it takes same long it takes from india or it will be faster . will it help if they found job first there first and get sponser by emoloyer.

If you have a copy of your Diploma(s), valid passport, the whole fees amount for processing and you follow up with all mails and correspondance, the due process could take six(6) the sonnest, up to 12 months the latest. If you experience any delays that would be due in the filling in with the paper works that could take up to two (2) years, if you mess them up.
They don't seek, or look for employment for you. The main program issues an immigrant visa through the general consulate, based on the diploma(s) and the level of education that you acquired. But if you go through a recruiting agency, they find you an employer based on your specialty, your qualification, training and work experience.

I hope that'll help.

You have to have legal entry into the US.... Also you must be admitted for more than a year to apply for canadian greencard in CIC Buffalo. They might consider your I-94 (with ..... valid indefinitely... stamp)... go check it first. Good Luck

thanks again for ur quick reply.yes this person has diploma and other education work exprenice .but don't have any passport from cop.but do have RTD .i think indian consulate here in us don't issue passports to refugee's .this person entered into us without passport .never had any passport back home either.

If the U.S. finds out that you have become a resident of Canada (chances are they will) they will likely terminate your asylum status.

Do you think governments do not talk to each other, particuarly two long time allies which are neighbors and which face a common threat from international terrorism?

Use common sense

Even us with green cards shouldn't file a petition for residence elsewhere. USCIS is clear about that. If you take up residency in another country you may lose the one you have here. I too want to get Canadian papers one day but I will wait until I'm a U.S citzen.

i agree with you.but is it safe to apply for pr with only rtd in ur hand .this person don't mind loosing status in us.it will another 5.5 yrs to be usc.but need to get marry back in india backlog for green card holder's faimly is 5 yrs.this is why want to move to canada so can get faimly here faster.or is there any better way .another thing this oerson is afraid to go back there country due to what hapen with them there.they are planing to get marry in 3rd country .thanks agin for ur help

As I metioned earlier.... check if you can apply for canadian PR without legal entry into the US.... I strongly beleive that its you 'n not any of your friend....!!

They accept your application with your most recent I-94. Go through their official web sites........ The only place where you can apply for this benefit (under federal class) in this country is CIC Buffalo.......if you want to apply at CIC Buffalo then you have to have a legal entry into the US (also you must be admitted atleast for a year or more in US.... it could be a re-admission on your RTD as well) to apply for canadian PR....

Please spend some time on reading their rules rather than asking these useless questions and getting baby sitting .... ( please take it in a constructive way)

.....and Yes! I have canadian PR as well.

I do not understand the issue here. If you d not mind losing your American status and see that immigrating to Canada is so beneficial, then what is the problem?
