6 DAYS AFTER I was given asylum by the judge, I went to INS office with the post order instructions and JUdge's approval letter to get I-94,
They are reluctant to issue such card and later They issued me one that has one year valid. I got asylum on april 23 2007 and the I94 says valid till april-22-2008.
The next day I talked to another officer and told her there shouldn't be a date on the i-94 for asylum applicants but she said no, the one year valid is correct and after one year you apply for EAD card and apply green card like that but I insisted to the officer that I know the law about what I should do next but correct the I-94. She refused and I had to leave fearing they may do harm to my case if I keep insisting. My lawyers are free pro bono lawyers and they have finished thier job on winning asylum for me.
But I want to get an idea about how I should get someone's help in talking to the ins officer to give me a corrected I-94.
Your Idea?
