Asylee case pending and applying for Univeristies

Dear all,
My interview was on Nov. 1st and I haven't received any decision yet. In the mean time I thought I should apply for Universities. As the deadline is mostly end of this year in most Universities for PhD I kinda have to hurry. So, I have some questions hope to get answers.

I was here in F1 visa. Now I am out of status until the decision. will I be able to apply? Under what status?

Will the Universities take my application seriously in this situation

any other things you might suggest or want to tell me.

The truth will set you free. Always stick to the truth whatever happens. You need to go to the college and speak with an advisor and see how you can apply since you are out of status.
