I been granted asylum last year through an immigration judge after years of waiting and in 2 month I can apply for green card so I have few questions .

Do I need a lawyer to apply or is it better to apply throughout a lawyer ?

Is there any way to wive the fees ? I see its 985$ and I don't have a job yet so it's little expensive for me .

When I can file my application ? I got granted last year on sep 1st so is gotta be after sep 1st or few days before

Can I find a lawyer who can help me for free ? I'm in LA , ca

Any body know what the waiting time for people in California ?

What the chances that they might deny my application ? I filed my asylum ear

You don't need a lawyer to file for GC. Just fill up the application correctly and provide all the supporting documents and you will be fine. If you can show financial struggles, you can request a fee waiver. Expect 6-9 months for the whole process. Quicker if you are lucky.

For fee waiver, there is a fee waiver request form that you will have to fill up. Just follow the instruction on the form.

Thank you guys for answering my questions but I got one more question , I'm planing to move to a new place by September or October so it will be about 2 month after filing the application.

My question is do u think moving to a new address might delay my application when I change my address ?
Or I should wait and move after getting the green card but it might take too long .

Again thanks guys .

It's me again , what kind of other documents I should file with my application ? I heard that I need to prove that I been staying in the country for the past year ? I never been out of the country .

I'm not moving out of state it will be same city just different neighborhood , do u still think I will be transferred to anther district and will delay my application ? My lease will end up in few month so I need to move or renew it for anther year . Or it's better to move to another place then apply for the green card ?
