assistance to illegal aliens

is it a crime to help illegal aliens who are here in the US? I mean, will I lose my green card if say, on hypothetical basis, I obtain a cell phone plan for an illegal alien under my name and have her/his use the phone, have the bill sent to her/his house and have him/her pay the bill - will I lose my gc because of this and get deported if the said illegal alien was found by ICE and then deported?

Please help. I really would like to help out a trusted friend (who won't ruin my credit and pay the bills on time) but at the same time, i cannot afford to loose my GC and get deported myself because of something like this

why don't you have your friend pay you and then you pay the check to the phone company?
If you have a phone under your name then it is your phone, why should it matter who pays your bill.
Also, my guess is you do not have to know your friend is here illegally, do you inspect all your friends status?

If this whole ting is about procuring a phone, he can buy a pre-paid card.
Now somehting tells me there is more to it than a phone plan.
