Asking Original I-94 for H4 ref

I got a ref for my wife's H4 renewal. USCIS is asking 3 recent pay stubs and original I-94.
Is it usual to send original I-94 to USCIS? Should I send original I-94 to USCIS?
What would happen when she travel, don't they ask for original i-94 at the airport?

It is not usual to ask original I94 THey usually ask the copy of I94.
