Asking an opinion

According to the notice, I was supposed to get approved by April 14 when I completed 600 days. My RD is August 14, 2002. I am in a desperate situation to change my employer. Yes, there is a chance of potential lay off. I have options of waiting for another 2-3 months or change my employer now so that I can atleast get a chance to reply an employer RFE. If I stick around and get laid off, then finding a job and replying to RFE may be difficult. What you guys suggest? Is there a period before the RFE need to replied?

Look for a new job ASAP. Since you have been well past 180 days, you are well covered by AC21. If I was you, I would worry about finding a new job and keep the RFE issue at the backburner for some time.

Agree. 600 days is just for some lucky guys. I had waited for 800 days before I got my RFE and my case is straightforward.

If possible represent yourself for the hearing...., since your case has passed 600 days and in accordance to the web and reciept notice..., USCIS is supposed to process your case.

Senator

For more than 4 months, I have been pursuing to get an appointment with the Senators office. No luck. I think I have to make a move. Thanks all for the opinion.

What is this category

In the 485 processing dates, there is a category called 'Under the Indochinese Adjustment Act'. What is this category? The current date for this category is Jan 2003. How is this possible?

Indochinese is a legacy term for the Laotian / Vietnamese community. Indians , including have been offered a glimmer of hope and extinguished with bewilderment by this category.

FP

Recently, I got my FP done. I asked the lady that took my FP a question. I asked her why do we have to take FP each year till we get GC. She replied that they do not keep the FP records in their system for more than a year. This is ridiculous.

Was she right?

This may be an old question, what happens if 140seeker'GC approved right before he changes job? Some lawyers say you have to stay on the job after approval for a while. But who knows how long?

Spoke to my Lawyer today.

I spoke to my lawyer today. She is saying there is no problem in moving to a different job. If the INS can arrpove a case within their time frame we can stick around. What's the case if we dont have a choise.

Re: Spoke to my Lawyer today.

no problem moving after GC approved? My lawyer told either find a job right away to use AC21 or wait up to a year after approval, which I have no idea when it is. The whole thing is ridiculous.
