pralay said:After USCIS moved to DHS Ashcroft had little hand for slowdown. Keep in mind that most of the FBI FP+background checks take less than a week. The problem is that USCIS (or DHS) has it's own "name check". I think name check is mess and most common names (especially Muslim names) get stuck. Remember, Ted Kennedy was no-fly list? Or Cat Stevens case? This name check expires in 35 days. So if 35 days passed and did not get approved, USCIS needs to redo it again.
