As a naturalized citizen is there any way to get a passport without an N-565?

I lost my naturalization form and have to do some traveling next year. Everyone I've talked to says I need that form to leave/return to the country, but I am wondering if there are any workarounds for emergencies, for example. Or, if I could use a travel emergency to expedite the N-565 procedure (my grandma's 95th bday is next year).

The N-565 posted processing time is 6 months. If you need the replacement certificate faster than that, include a compelling expedite request, based on humanitarian and emergent situation grounds.

The certificate is not a travel document, you need a passport. You need to present your proof of citizenship to get a passport. An old passport would also work.
