How did you get your greencard? Was it through your own employment based petition or was it sponsorship through your spouse or some other category such as refugee?

If it was EB based petition, you would have realized that there is something called "retrogression". Currently for an Engineer filing under EB3 (born in Mexico or India) the PD is April 2001. Well that is over 6.5 years. It does not mean the dates will not retrogress further. If you would like to see the current PDs, here is the link:
