Arrest record

Hi

I had got arrested for domestic violence but the case was dismissed as my wife refused to pursue the case and there were no injuries.

i want to find out:

1. my employer has filed for H1B extension - will this affect the approval? also for visa stamping on passport, will it have any implication?
2. my green card application is in process (not yet rcvd the labor approval) - what may be implications on that?
3. if travelling internationally, can i be refused reentry because of this record?

Please advise.

Since the case is dismissed, there should be no records mentioning a criminal back ground. So, there might not be any implication as regards to ur H1 or GC, since there is no out come to ur case.

Personally! I would say, Grow up man!!! don't fight with wife and abuse in a way some people do in other countries.

Any input.
My friend is in a a similar situation. He was arrested 2 times in 2 yrs first time when the waitress complained to cops as he was sitting in a restaurant for too long and 8 months later on domestic violence charges. he slapped his wife and she called 911 . He spent 3 days in jail as he was arrested on a saturday and court was on monday. Later he was released in pre trial when he accepted no contest charge and was told to take 28 weeks of anger management classes. after 28 classes he case was dismissed .
now his first stage of green card if approved and he is filing 2nd and 3rd stages. will this have any effect on his green card. Any inputs.
