I don't know much about I-485, I'm new in this forum, but since most of my experience in based on Naturalization process, and assuming that CIS has the same guidelines for all the stages of the immigration, I believe you were supposed to mention that, and also I believe that you can do the correction at the interview.

Like cs2004 said, I think will be better if you have documentation about the outcome of the "incident" when you go for interview.

You will be asked this question during the interview as things might have changed since you submitted your application. So be honest and admit the mistake in omission of the fact taht you got arrested. Why admit it? USCIS already has your record based on the fingerprints yor provided and if you still lie, they would assume that you lied in the rest of your application and can make your process more difficult. Also, it would help a lot if you can consult an attorney as to what the legal opinion is as i am not an attorney ;)

You can check out if that case was clear out, and will be very good to have a paper about it so in the case that comes up you can clarify (with paper on hand) that you really forget about it and later on remember it and that is why you even check out if everything was alright.

Good luck,

Go to circuit clerk court house and obtain an official copy of your court/ticket disposition.
When you get to the interview before you swear in tell them that you have something to add to your I-485 application. Tell them that this was an inadvertent mistake since you sincerely forgot to mention it.

How to obtain documents?

I have requested records but have not received any information in 10 days.
This whole thing happened in NY and since then I have moved to IL.
Any suggestion how can I make sure that i receive disposition documents before my interview which is coming up in about 2 weeks time.

I am not sure how NY handles this request but in IL you have to go in person in the circuit court that had jurisdiction over the arrest/charges.
