No offence to the sixers and seveners but its really boring.
Arent you guys supposed to be done by now? You guys have been waiting too long.

Can the junes and julys start a june/july approval thread?

July 16 and waiting

not only is it boring now its getting to be frustrating,
my EAD is expiring on sep 19 02 and I dont know what to do.
Most people told me to renew it but damn it it costs like 800.00 bucks for my whole family.
I just wish this would get over
 
My prj is gonna end by mid Aug.....I am not sure whether I should market my CV as H1 or wait till GC

I will better wait...what else can we do.
 
Useful info

One of my friend with august RD called IIO and was informed that
1) There are lot of 485 applications till August 1st week end.
2) It will take atleast 5 more weeks to clear all the applications
till August 1st week end.

So I think we should not expect any major august approvals till next
month............. this wait is killing me....

Whenever I call the IIO, they never tell me anything like whether file is assigned or not. Guess I always get the not so helpfull IIOs... no end to this nightmare in sight...

As per your info, even if I get my approval in 5 weeks, I would still be ok.
The problem is, if I dont get it by sep 19, and if I have not renewed my EAD, then I am DEAD.

Yesterday I read some guys approval posting, where he said that he had contacted his senator for help in his case.
After reading his posting I have just sent an E mail to my NJ Senators,
lets wait and see what happens, I do hope it works.
Coz so far nothing else has worked, so much so that now even my belief in prayers has doubts!!!!
 
I think contacting senator is too early right now

I advice you to wait atleast till June end. Still quite a number of June/july cases are pending.

The problem is, and I am not sure if I am correct,
It seems we have to apply for a EAD renewal 90 days before the EAD expires.
Hence my concern and Hurry!!!!!

Yes, maybe its a right thing to do, we must all contact our senators,
they will atleast know that INS is just window dressing to look good
(processing time 08/01) when in fact there are plenty of june/july RD\'s waiting. I even saw a thread of May RD\'s still waiting.

send your real problems and hardships and experiences

About 6 months back one of my friends contacted a Texas senator because his case was taking too long (11 months after RD). Senator\'s secretary (or someone in his office) asked him to bring in all the papers such as copy of 485 receipt etc. When the staff saw \'it takes 365-540 days\' on the receipt he promptly asked my friend to come after the completion of 365 days.

If you want a letter from senator try to go thru some influential community leader. eg abovesaid friend had a distant relative who was a reputed doctor in Houston, Texas and also a republican party member. He made one call and very next day letter was prepared from senators office. Sometimes it is just because senators office do not want to get into any trouble by giving letter to any stranger like us.
 
That only works if you have H1 time left.

Remember, it is only a six year visa (for most of us) and the
seventh year has strong conditions.
