AR-11..change of address form

Did anyone use AR-11 form to intimate change of address form? Does this change of address reflect in I485 processing? Does this affect if the change of address is with in the same zip code?

Please help. I am planning to send one.

Send one DC address and another to Vrmnt cntr, sometimes changes doesn\'t gets reflected at the vrmnt cntr so be safe update both.
 
Is this required by law?

Should aliens have to submit AR-11 form to DC after everytime you move? within 10 days you move?
If you called VSC to update address instead of sending them AR-11 form, is it OK?

Just call them and update you address by phone, as I did, I changed address from VA to NJ and got FP

In the instruction of AR-11

it is said that "This card is to be used by all aliens to report change of address within 10 days of such change"
"failure to report is punishable by fine or imprisonment and /or deportation"

So should we do it for every address change?, if over 10 days already to submit this form, is it possible to get some punishment?
