It was shared that someone called to senate judiciary committee directly and learned

-----------------------------
They said the immigration reform bill was passed 13/3 today.
THe next step is that it'll be voted on in the Senate, it'll be a few
weeks before they even schedule it. Typically it would take about 2
months to be heard before the Senate.. And then if it gets passed it'll
right away either be or not to be the LAW :)

But this is great news!!!! TEMPORARILY!!

Wish you Good Luck

It seems US congress has a way of delaying things they don't care about. There are numerous bills passed to restrict the rights of immigrants and they are done pretty swiftly.

It was high priority for the "Nurses gone wild" because of the shortage in that field.
Has anyone heard Techies gone wild, after the Y2K?

So Hopefully within > 12 months

Just wondering why the developed nations cannot produce more Nursing staff
Do not worry, plenty of 'nurse factories' have already sprung up all over south india in the last few years.

how about becoming a nurse -- easy green card -- Join in Bonus $10,000, Salary between 70-90K .. we can show some exp -- 8 hrs work plus extra pay if U work overtime.

No hassals of these consulting desi firms ... wow the possibility looks endless -- and future exicting.

Now can someone tell where do they offer quick crash course on nursing...

Thats the way to roll ... I guess.

I read somewhere H1B proposal is going for voting on Wednesday. WHat happened to proposal for 90K visa numbers recapture for EB? When will this proposal come for voting?

jambalakadi1,

I dont know the source of your info ..but what i know is that out of 50,000
recaptured numbers for schedule A only 12000 has been used so far .. so in about 4-5 months schedule A has only used 12K and 38K is still available .... so just think how come those 90K will be used so fast by schedule A applicants ... Plus if this new bill pass then the dependents will not be counted against the quota .....

The info about 38K still available can be read at the following . They posted that info on 10/18 .

actually, according to the recent breaking news secton of immigration-law.com, it said that 90K recaptured visa number will be exhausted by the schedule A worker very quickly.

You are right

IPC302,

Unless the information posted on immigration-law is incorrect, I do not think that the 90,000 visa numbers will be taken up by Sch A workers. As you said, more than the 90,000 visas that will be added to the pool, the fact that dependents will not take away visas is very important. Technically 180,000 visas will be granted because stats show that half the visa numbers are taken up by dependents. This is very significant for us. If this bill passes then even after the 90,000 extra visas finish the following year visa numbers will be increaed by the no dependents clause. This bill will help in the long run based solely on the dependents clause. Hopefully it will become law in the next 3-6 months.
