Applying SSN for my spouse (H4).

Hi All,
My wife (H4 status) and myself recently received EAD card :). Today, she applied for her SSN with her new EAD card. But, she is still not sure about her work in future using EAD.

Questions:
At what point BCIS considers a person has used his/her EAD?
At the time of applying SSN with EAD or at the time she really doing job and receiving pay check.

Gurus, please reply.

Question about filing I-140 and 485

Guys


Please give me some input. I wanted to appy for I-140 and 485 at the same time. I am getting married in dec.. So my wife only comes say dec end or in jan. Is it possible for her to apply separately or do we need to appy together for both..


Any information will be greatly appreciated

Apply your 140 right now .. ONce you get marry add your wife name in 485 and file that time ..So that you can get some priority for your 140 ..

Hi pan1975

You can apply both your 140 and 485 right now. You should be married before your 485 is approved. So, even if you get married 1 day before your 485 is approved then also the 485 will be valid for both of you.
I don't know the procedure to file for you wife at a later stage, but your lawyer will be able to help you. Also, if you file both together right now, then your priority date for 485 is now and not Dec/Jan.
 
I-140 Approved

As per the AVM my I-140 was approved today. Received an RFE and responded on 08/29. Updated my details.
 
Isabel hurricane

I am not sure how Isabel will affect the I 140 processing, with no natural calamities it is taking 14 months to 15 months of time, now there is a reason for delay. I wish Isabel will create miracle by jumping the processing dates few notch (in months) up ;)

I am getting married in dec . I dont want to waste any time in appyling for 140 and 485. is there any rule saying me and my & wife should be applied at the same time ....

Fingerprinting - no news :(

All,

Does anybody know whats the delay with fingerprinting? Lookin g at the excel spreadsheet, most of the people what got the 140 and ead approved but whats up with the fingerprinting? Whats going on?

I guess i am getting a bit worried.

Any info is appreciated.

I -140 Approve date : 17th Sep 2003

I -485 Receipt Date : 24th April 2003
I -485 Approve date : Waiting for

I140 – RFE

I140 – RFE

RD of I140: June 12th
EAD and AP approved on Aug 6th

RFE on I140:
Proof of experience and education evaluation.

I don’t have experience (reference) letters from my previous employers (left employers without serving notice period). What options do I have? Could some please answer.

I140 and RFE

Hypothetically speaking if everyone doesn't submit company's financial statements, does it mean everyone gets their I140 approved within 60 days. That is a neat way of reducing USCIS backlog.:D :p

Haven't done that now have to wait for the good mood of USCIS personnel.:eek:
