Veka, to clarify......they published the April bulletin yesterday for about an hour or two. And then for some odd reason the April bulletin was pulled off the web page again. Don't know why....could be to correct numbers for DV, could be to correct statutory numbers, could be because of technical difficulties, could be because of something completely different.....I guess we will find out today.

Well its official now, 23,500. the numbers for the EU are moving at an unprecedented rate. The only thing that I can think is that people are just not following up their GC’s in the EU possibly due to economic conditions or what ever. Although the umbers moved very quick all year, I was convinced that they were going to slow down at any bulletin. I think it’s a very safe bet that EU region will be current in June. Given that my number is in the range 252XX - 253XX there is only a very small jump to my number now. I am preparing now for a June interview, which , means I will have a shot of my green card in less then three months! Not bad considering I had written off the possibility of getting it as my CN was so high!
Where are my fellow EU winners in the 25K club? What do you all think!

I think your reasoning makes good sense, given the US's economic collapse, a lot of EU winners probably decided its better to stay put. Heck if I was an EU member I would give ita lot of thought too, US is in dissarray right now, on the bright note its just few more months of Bush at the helm then brighter times ahead..:D
For me I have no choice, having spent 8 yrs in education in US and buried myself in loans and on top of that not having enough H1 visas to accomodate international students whereas most of them taken by indian nationals from india who dont even study here, ...you get the point, I am frustrated as hell:mad:
This lottery was a nice surprise but a high number doesn't really help, just adds more frustration.

I hear you. I have spoken to countless numbers of Irish people and people from all over the place that spend years and years in building a life in the US on temporary non-immigrant visas, never knowing how much longer they will be able to stay there due to visa related issues. Living year to year … I just could not live my life like that. I know that getting H sponsorship is not as bad as I am making out but I am not a fan of half visas. To me its like:

“You can come and work here on a H visa for X amount of years, but once that time is up America will have used your skills and knowledge for its own economical gain and now go home please, oh and I don’t care if you have built friendships/relationships, bought a house or anything else. The law is the law go home.”

I made the decision that I would only ever consider relocating to the US as a permanent resident, and I admire people who can live on borrowed visa time, I wish I could be a little more daring. :-)

I am sure you will eventually get to your interview, there is still 4 more bulletins to go. I really hope you get there in the end. I can only imagine what a rough time of it that you have had going from visa to visa never really knowing how long you were going to be able to say on in the US.
