At last my I 485 has been approved . On 05/13/03 on-line status was updated that an RFE has been sent to my self , my wife and my kid . My wife received her RFE notice on 05/16/03 asking to prove her status is legal and we were waiting on RFE notices for my self and my kid to put up a reply . I just checked the status again and to my surprise it has been updated that my case has been approved on 05/15/03 . I hope this info is correct and my wife and kid's issues should get sorted out pretty quickly because they have been maintaining legal status.

My case# SRC-02-167-XXXX
ND : 05/06/02 .
FP : 11/01/02 .
AD : 05/15/03 .

I also applied for my EAD renewal on 03/12/03 and it was
approved a week back and I received card on 05/17/03 .

It looks like TSC is on move and hope to see a flood of approvals very soon . Good luck to you all guys .

It seems TSC is processing based on the FP date and NOT the RD.

Could you please share the documents you sent to make sure that your wife was/is in legal status?

Which EB category are you. Are you a special (urgent) case at TSC? Did you get an RFE?

Plasticcard I will post on the documents we sent to prove legal status as soon as our kid's RFE notice is received and I am in touch with my lawyer .
My category is EB3 , no mine is not a special case and I never even called IIO . I started my labor around Sep 2000 i.e a little ahead of Gking and KenH .

No , I did n't get an RFE for I 485 , but we all got RFE's for AP application asking us to send a copy of I140 notice even though
we already sent it with all the other I485 paper work .

It is going abt in FP order..
Of course there are few lucky people who are getting FP notices within 2-3 months of applying.

Something abt SRC-02-167... I know 2 other friends from my
sponsoring company who applied on same date and have got
approved way back In Sept.

Hate to shoot down your FP theory.
Here are two numbers that I got when I ran the 485 script

SRC0125450484 finger printing done on Jan 23,2002. Still not approved
SRC0125450633 finger printing done on Mar 25, 2002. Still not approved.
These are 2001 cases.
It is luck. or like you said something about SRC 02 167 filers.
Only God knows the workings of TSC.

What evidence of being in legal status did they request in the RFE? Having I485 pending automatically keeps one in legal status(i.e status is I485 pending), does it not?
 
When my current employer applied for H1B they did n't apply for
my wife and kid's H4 extension and we had to file for their H4s
and get them approved later . It looks like TSC does n't
have the information for the period between the expiry of their
initial H4 and ND date of I485 . We did n't get our passports stamped for extensions as we were about to file for 485 and APs .

Sent out RFE reply package for my wife and kid . Just a cover letter copies of I-94 , copies of H4 approvals and copies of passports . That's all RFE notice wanted .
