All,
My I-485 Approved on 23rd Jan.

Here are the details:

ReciptNo: EAC-02-051-5xxx
Recipt Date: Oct 8th'2001
RFE issued on : Some time in October 2002
RFE Response Received by INS; 12th Nov 2002

After Receiving RFE Response message was "Blah Blah..additional time required to process is 540 days Blah Blah". RFE was they wanted addidtional evidence for my Birth Certificate.

Could you let us know what was wrong with the birth certificate that you initially submitted with I-485 app ?

I didnt have original birth Certificate. I had to get one for GC from the court. But INS also needed the affidavit form the notary. RFE was about the affidavit.
 
Congrats. I have also submitted affidavit from relatives got it notarized by a lawyer back home, hope that's fine.

Pls elaborate on this court procedure for getting BC. Which court? Court here in the US or back home? Appreciate if anyone can shed more light.

I'm expecting a BC RFE. I have not submitted my original BC since there is a conflict between my actual birth date and the birth date thats on the pp. What I hv submitted is a bunch of notarised(notary back home) affidavits from parents and relatives.

Geecee1 Please elaborate in detail the following...

1. Which court (I am assuming the court in India)
2. What was wong with the Affidavit.
3. What did you do to correct the problem
