differencce between ND and PD

Can anybody tell me the difference between ND and PD? What date does INS consider for I-485 processing?
 
TSC picks random, I guess

PD is Priority date..is the date of your LC filling. where as notice date ND is the date when INS got your I485 form.
 TSC picks random, I guess; looking at approvals lately. I see lot of ND 8/00 and later being approved.

PD 2/99, RD/ND 2/00, FP 5/00, AD:still waiting
