All,
The I-485's (for my wife and myself) were approved at NSC on 02/25/2004, per the Online Status Tracking System. A long journey is over.
After having waited so long its hard for me to even get excited about it. My pulse didnt change one bit when I looked at the message. Anyway here is my journey.

LC - So called RIR filed in June 99. At this time RIR in Texas was taking 4 months (state + federal).
My company screwed up and this labor was approved in July 2001. 2+ years, after 2 RFEs

At the time when RIR was normally taking 4 months, TSC was approving I-140's in 6 weeks.

I finally got them to use a substitute labor in Jan 2001. By this time TSC was slower in I-140. The I-140 was approved after RFE in March 2002. 13 Months for I-140.

Filed for I-485 in NSC in April 2002. Forced to change Jobs and atty and filed AC21 in Mar 2003. The pace of NSC slowed from 11 months to 22 months (in My case). I finally got an RFE and second FP in January 2004. Approval 02/25/2004 for wife and self.

I wish you all the very best. Please try and rekindle the fire and passion (to get somewhere in life), that has been snuffed out by this ordeal. I will do the same.

Right now my situation is analogous to the following.

A puppy when on a leash tries to go some place and do things and struggles quite a bit to break the leash.

After a few years, the puppy is a grown dog and even if the same flimsy leash (that can be easily broken) is still used, the dog doesnt try to break out.

Once again good luck to you all !

Warm Regards,
Krishna Iyer

Krishna Iyer, All the best!!

Congratulations and All the best.

Great post of your emotions. I am surprised that you did not even have a twitch of happiness. Nothing in this world is so big or great that you lose the sense of elation when you get something. Have a drink and laugh the last few years of frustration away in the company of friends and family.

Atleast this dog is out of the kennel. We look at you bounding away and are happy for your freedom. The person who held the leash this long will now have to pay up.

Pls update your status in http://www.rupnet.com/immigration There are a lot of approvals today - please add to it.

Thank You

Rsur,
Thank you very much. I am a little relieved and it probably hasnt sunk in fully. At the very least it is one thing I can stop checking and worrying about and get on with more important things in life.

Good luck to all of you out there. Please remember, like the Green Card process and everything else in life, there will be 1000's (whom you may consider less deserving) that had it better and 1000's (who are probably more deserving than you) that had it worse than you. Hang in there and your day will come.

Keep your hopes and dreams alive. Thats the most important thing.

Regards,
Krishna Iyer

Congratulations

Krishna Iyer,

Congratulations.

As per your posting you filed I140 in Texas and I 485 in Nebraska.
Is your Company based in Texas ? Did you file I485 in Nebraska since you are working in Nebraska ?

I did the same thing so just want to know. If you got RFE's since your I140 is in Texas.

Thanks,

I Lived in CO and my Company had HQ in TX. Therefore LC and I-140 were in TX. (No Concurrent filing in the old days).

CO falls under NSC and I applied for I-485 at NSC and moved to OH (job change AC21) which is also under NSC.

RFE was for simple Empl Letter.

Hope this helps.

Rgds

Thanks

Thanks for the Info.

My scenario is also same like yours.

My Green Card sponsoring Company was in Texas and I was working in KansasCity, Kansas. Changed the employer who is still in KansasCity, Kansas.

I still didn't inform the INS about my Job Change. I think I should do it now as my Notice Date is in July.

Once again Congratulations and Thanks for the info.

Need to find out about the time after Approved

Hello Krishna,
I filed my I-485 on Apr,2002 and got an RFE on Dec,2003 and send the RFE on 02/27/2004. So i am expecting it to get approved this month. But i am planning to go to India for 4-6 weeks. Do you know how much time i will get after the approval to get it stamped on my passport.

Thanks
