Approved...What next ??

Hello folks,

My Oct 2001 RD 485 case was approved on Mar 27th. Can anyone please tell me what happens next ?

Moreover, my wife's case is still pending as she applied in May 2002 after we got married...Can I consider myself a legal permanent resident and take up employment while my wife's case is still pending ? What status will she be in now ?

Please share your thoughts.

First - celebrate.... Then after the celebration, get a job. You are a legal permanent resident and can work. Get an EAD card for your wife and she can work as well. Her status is "permanent resident - pending adjustment." (since her case is still under adjudication.)

Last but not least, say a little prayer for all of us on this forum so that our cases are approved soon........

Thank you Vashi17. That was a plain and simple reply....Celebrations and job hunt have already started for me...Just having the GC seems to have relieved a lot of weight off my mind.

My best wishes to all those who are waiting for their approvals - I know how uneasy and frustrating that wait can be !!! Your day will come soon.
