Found out this evening that the I-485 applications were approved for both my wife and I. Here are our details:

RD 02/04/2002
ND 03/04/2002
FP1 06/17/2002
FP2 11/19/2003
AD 02/18/2004

I have checked my status on the USCIS website almost everyday for the past year. I was surprised to see the approval message this evening. I was also surprised by my own involuntary reaction - No real joy or excitement, just relief!

I would like to answer some of the questions posted on this thread.

OmGV - this is an answer to your question. I received an FP2 notice a couple of months after my first FP expired.

Mavishka, I was planning on contacting a senator/congressman sometime this week. Thankfully, now I don't have to.

I would like to thank all of you who have posted congratulatory notes for me. I hope you will have your 485 approved soon.

I have a question:
I was wondering if one can travel on AP after 485 has been approved. I was planning to visit India next week, and use my AP for my return. Is my AP still valid? Or, should I wait to get my approval notice and get my passport stamped?
