Approved & Passport Stamping question

Our I-485 case was approved and we got our passport stamped.
Our EAD and I-94 was not returned to us after passport stamping.

Is this the general process?

Without EAD what proof of identification do we need to carry with us till the time our plastic card arrives?

Can we travel abroad just using the passport stamp - without the plastic card?

Yes, they took our eads too. Stamp on GC says that we are autorised to work. My company wanted the copy of GC stamping so that they can use those details for my employment. Yes, you can also travel on that basis.
