Thanks a ton to everyone! I cant express how thankful I am .. (pretty misty eyed right now). Yes, Received for both me and my wife.

Anyways here are the detials:

* Labor Filed Dec 2000 (late in the month)
* Labor approved Jan 2001 (yeah under 4 weeks)
* I-140 Approved sometime in April 2001.
* 485 Stage:
-- RD nov 07, 2001
-- ND nov 09, 2001. By the way, I never received the 485 application notice. I have always used the copies of the cancelled checks for everything and I MEAN EVRYTHING. Trust me it works!
-- WAC-02-033-5XXXX
-- First AP received, Dec 2001
-- First EAD received Feb 2002
-- Lost job nov 2002 (>360 days after application)
-- EAD and AP renewal on my own Nov 2002
-- AP renewal received in Jan 2003.
-- New job feb 2003
-- Interim EAD from SJ INS office on Feb 15 2003.
-- EAD renewal received in May 2003
-- Applied AC-21 for job change. This was recommended by the lawyer. Was done sometime in May/June 2003. I'M GLAD I DID IT!!!
-- Second FP request received in Oct 2003.
-- Did the FP in San Jose in Nov (early nov) 2003
-- FP respose was received by BCIS Nov 18, 2003 (I think)
-- RFE Received In Nov 2003.
-- Address change in Nov 2003 after receiving RFE
-- Sent the change of address filed and received before Nov end 2003.
-- India trip using second AP in Nov 2003. Returned December 2003. Secondary immigration.. no issues.
-- RFE Responded to on Dec 29th (i think) 2003.
-- RFE Received by BCIS on Jan 05, 2004.

-- APPROVED ON JAN 22, 2004!!!!!!!!!! Checked both online status and phone status for me and my wife. Same status.. Approved on Jan 22, 2004!!!

-- Passport stamped Feb 04, 2004!
- We were asked only for our latest EADs and advanced paroles. Previos EADs/APs is just added paperwork.
- Were told to wait 6-10 months for our plastic cards.
-- PLASTIC CARDS RECEIVED ON FEBRUARY 26, 2004!!! IM DONE!!! :)

First of all, congratulations.
Second, I think your big mistake was to wait for so long since I-140 approval until you filed for I-485. Your labor and I-140 times look like the ones I had, pretty much. I applied for I-485 in July of 2001 and got approved almost 2 years ago. I know someone else who procrastinated on the I-485 and got bitten by the delay, but finally got the GC too.

Good luck, enjoy the extra peace of mind that comes from the GC. It seems that approvals are picking up, I hope the trend continues and accelerates.

BTW, could you post in what respect applying AC-21 helps? The common suggestion is to wait until USCIS asks.

Hi,

I have updated the chronology.. but just in case..
-- 2nd FP received oct 2003.
-- FP done early nov 2003
-- FP results received by BCIS mid nov 2003.
