I just got approved on Feb 2008, no LUD's prior to approval emails. Was stuck in NC since 05/2006. My NC was still pending in mid Jan 2008 when I checked last time. Apparently, the new NC memo has effect.

On a side note, I just renewed my and my spouse's EADs and APs. Should've waited if I knew the approval is coming, but then Murphy's law would kick in, as it often does, and I wouldn't been approved until after EAD and AP expired. Oh well, I consider it my donation to the common good of USCIS. I only wish I could take a tax deduction on it, but then IRS would likely disagree if I declare it a charity donation :)

Congrats koku1 and Enjoy your freedom.

congrats on your approval! did you do a second FP after your first FP in July 2006?

Your EAD/AP renewal triggered the approval!

Sorry, mistyped aproval date in the tread heading, should be 02/28/08

Koku1,

I would say that your Spouse's EAD/AP renewal triggered the GC approval. It is in the approval procedure to approve GC if 'appovable' before EAD/AP is renewed. I would encourage other folks whose cases are stuck in Name check to apply for EAD/AP new/renewal so it triggers GC approval. I know it is too much money but it is worth every single cent!!!

Just wait for few days your spouse's EAD/AP will also get approved! surprised that's how the USCIS works!!!

gc_patient,

I hope you receive your approval soon with the new name check rule. Your priority date has been current for a while

My wife and me got approval for ead/ap last week but not on I 485.We are waiting for more than 2 years where PD is current. NC is struck. It is basically luck..

Koku1 congratulations !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could please share whether you got Second FP notice?

From Which Service center you got ur case approval?

No, I didn't get the 2nd FP note. My lawyer checked with TSC a week or so before approval, and was told that my FP were current. My understanding is that USCIS began storing FP data sometimes around mid-2006 (can't say exactly when), and then they simply re-run stored FPs instead of inviting you for a FP appointment

I am in the same situation. I have filed my EAD renewal on 2/28/08 and got I-485 approval on 2/29/08. Was wondering if I can claim the refund?
