My wife and my case was approved today

Details :
EB2 RIR
I-140 AOS
ND - 03/12/01
RD - 03/19/01
FP - 08/01/01
AD - 02/07/02
EAC-01-129-xxxxx

I have been a passive participant in this very informative forum. The last few weeks were very frustrating for me as there were a number of April approvals and did not get any response from our lawyers office, etc.

Anyway, it is a great feeling to finally hear the words. "This case was Approved on blah blah blah".

Thanks to everyone participating in this forum and to the people like Rajiv Khanna who have made it possible.

Finally We Passed this painful wait ND 03/13 RD 03/20 CP140

Mine and My wife case were approved today.

PD 12/99 EB 2 India
I140 Approved for CP in aug 2000
I485 ND 03/13/01 RD 03/20/01 FP 08/01 AD 02/07/02

Called IIO in Aug 2001 as Case was not found in AVM.

Moved to another state due to a job transfer( same company)q, sent
request for a change of address thru attorney in aug 2001.

AVM changed to Case Received on 12/05/01

Called IIO in Dec 2001 asked about CP of I140
IIO said \'officer will request I140 after he/she opens the file\'.

Called NVC to follow up I140 not much help I was told that file is in Chennai Consulate and NVC has on role to play, got the case number.

Sent an e-mail to chennai consulate in third week of Jan 2001 asking them if my 140 was sent to VSC,they promptly replied that they have not any request from vsc.

Called VSC again on 01/25/02 to check my I485 status, nice IIO asked me if I am still at my old address,I explained that I have moved and sent a request for a change of address in aug 2000,She is kind enough to do the change of address over phone, informed me all seems to be OK and case is under review and will hear a decison in 30 days.

Running out of patience I apply for EAD renewal for my spouse on 02/01/02.Delivered at INS on 02/04/02.Case Approved today 02/07/02.

This was one hell of a rollercoaster ride.

BayofB, I understand your frustration you will get your approval prettty soon.

Thanks for your detail message. Did you ever come to know whether INS really requested the I-140 from the consulate?
