This site is so invaluable to help you understand whether your wait is longer than normal. Especially with IIO saying that "it'll be a long time".

I called them a few times. Don't be paranoid to call them. As long as you're cordial, everything will be alright.

And congrats to all who are approved. It's nice when a prospective employer asks "Are you on an H1-B?" and you don't have to worry about the answer scaring them away.
