Approved I140, Got 3 Years extension , can i change company

Hi,


I have my I 140 approved. I have 12 months of H1 left and my company applied for H1 extension and it got approved . I got 3 Yrs of extension.

My question is
1)If i change my company, will my H1 still be valid and that too for 3 yrs. I don't have copy of my Labor and I140 and won't be able to get that thru my company.

2)even if somehow i get details of my labor, will it anyway help in this.

Has any one gone thru this senario.

H-1B validity

Hi Arun

I have read in these forums that your H-1B extension will be valid even after you change company. But if you do not have a copy of your I-140, you will not be able to retain your old PD. TRy to get a copy of your I-140.

I had some questions for you? You said you got a 3-year extension? did you get apply for this AFTER your I-140 approval or while it was pending? Also what year of your H-1B are you in?

I applied and got 3 Yrs extn after my H1 was approved. My 8 Months of H1 period was left at that time
