My wife's and my application of I-485 was approved today at WPB office in FL. The interview was schedule at 8:30 AM and 9AM for me and my wife respectively. We reached there at about 8AM. The office was not much crowded. We went in the office at 8:10 AM. Officer asked for our signature and finger print on the cards. We have been told to sit in the office. She told us to take the oath. We took the oath. She asked for Driver Liscences as Ids. She asked for Current Employment Letter, Pay Stubs for last 6 months ( She just asked for Pay stubs, not specificalay for 6 months. ), Income Tax Return Transcripts certified by IRS and passports. She asked for finger Printing confirmation receipts ( which was done 2nd time on Nov 20, 2004 ) to confirm our finger printing. She took out the I-94 from the passport. She told us to verify date of birth, present address. She left us in the office for about 5 minutes to confirm the finger printing results. She came back and stamped our passports.

I-485 RD/ND : 22 april, 2002
TD : June 21, 2004 to Miami
FP : Nove 20, 2004
AD : Dec, 6, 2002
EB2 / India

The strange thing is, she never asked to return all EADs and APs. She did not take any picture of us or never ask to submit what we had. She told me that I will receive my card with in 10 months of today, which is unusual. If I do not receive the card in 10 months, I will have to revisit the office and they will tell me what was wrong with the card issuance and may restamp my passport. I am sure TSC / INS does not have my photograph showing my front face ( new requirement ). I am sure, they do have my showing side face ( old style photoes ). So my question to you Gurues is that, Is this really the end of my journey or I still have to worry about it until I get my card.

Thanks all for your great help and I will appreciate if you could answer my question / worry in last paragraph.

Thanks,
FL2002Filer

Happy GC to u and family :D :D

FL2002Filer,

Congrats!

That is s standard statement they make. I was told the same at the interview and even the approval letter mentioned between 8 to 10 months, but I got the plastic cards in less than a month.

You are free now. Fly like a bird

Congratulations - enjoy your new freedom.

There is nothing to worry about. We are awaiting our Plastic cards. At the Orlando office they asked us for front facing photographs. But my son's card came with his side facing photograph (that we had submitted with the application).

At the Orlando office, the only things that they asked for was our passports, AP copies, photographs, I94s. But then we had the approval before we went there. I waved our EAD cards in front of the officer. But he looked at them, but did not ask for them. I had taken a bunch of documents (like you did), but nothing was asked for.

Thanks you all.. PrinceOfJungle, nmishra, WaitingInQ and ns77 for wishing me. Also thanks for your good encouraging words about 10 months waiting period for actual card.

Thanks,
