Yuppy, finally got 485 approved today.

Long story... Let me write it out (even though nobody would read it).
I am feeling excited; I can write even 10-page story today :)

- EB-2; RIR, Large Company with layoffs
- Filed LC in 2001; got remanded; gave up
- Used substitute labor and filed I-140 in 2003-end (Non-concurrent)
- 140 approved around end-of-2004
- 485 filed (for me and spouse) in Dec 2004
- EAD/AP got approved within 2 months or so (Feb, 2005)
- Wife's FBI Namecheck went through; mine got stuck
- Sent numerous emails/faxes to Congressman, Senator; INS-email address
Don't know which one helped; but finally FBI picked up my case
and cleared my namecheck in August, 2005.
- My 485 approved in Late August, 2005.
- Wife's 485 stil not approved - retorgressions going to kick in next week.
Got desparate; sent a "begging-kind-of e-mail" to INS' e-mail address.
Repeatedly requested them to look into the wife's case before the
retrogression kicks in. There was danger of really pissing-off the INS
person. But, we had nothing to lose.
Fortunately, that person had some mercy on us and responded by
saying that he would look into the case.
The next day; he sent another mail saying that 'the case is approved'.
Today, the online status of my wife's case is 'approved' !!!

For a change, I am thinking that some people in INS are pretty good!

Thanks to many people in this forum. We shared our frustrations,
experiences, 'galis towards INS' etc. etc.

I am indeed excited today ...

All the best to all of you, who have been waiting for the magic
word "Approved". Hope that you all will se this single word very soon.

Advice from my side ...

Guys,
One advice from my side:

If you know that FBI has cleared your namecheck and you are EB1/EB2;
send a "begging-e-mail" to the INS' e-mail address (unless your ego stops
you from doing that) asking them to kindly look into your case.
Use all the words like please, kindly, grateful (whatever you know) etc. etc.

Try your luck; you won't lose much even if you piss them off.
You guys have Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - only 3 days before
retrogression kicks in. Send one mail per day. Maybe, if the officer is
in good mood; he might feel pity and pick up your case :)
Downside is not too bad; upside is pretty good. I did the gamble and
the officer was pretty good and considerate. He picked up my case and
approved it.

My 10 cents (Today, due to my excitement, I would put my 10 cents
instead of the regular 2 cents).

Hahahahahaha .....

Thanks for sharing

Hi Dasbabu,
Congrats man!...Which email address are you talking about? Can you provide the address?
Thanks.

Luck,
No boss, I don't know any such email-id for vermont service center.
Go through the vermont board maybe somebody posted it there.

I came to know about that email-id from this board only.
That is why, I like this board so much and I am writing my story here (even if
one person in this board gets approval in my way; I shall be very pleased).
