My I485 was approved on 06/22/00. My details are
as follows:
ND: 10/10/1998
RD: 10/20/1998
FP: 04/1999
RFE: 05/2000
EB3
India

I got my passport stamped on 07/13/2000.
My wife\'s 485 was not approved but VSC sent
us a transfer notice saying that the preliminary
processing was done and the file was transferred to
INS Charlotte, NC for interview.
When I went to charlotte for stamping, I asked
IIO about the interview and she said that Charlotte
is currently processing naturalization cases and
may process immigration cases starting next year.

Is any body in the same situation or face the same?
What documents does the INS require for interview?
If I quit my job, will it any way affect the interview?
What happens if my wife\'s EAD expires?
We are applying for renewal at INS Charlotte.
Does any body know how long the INS Charlotte is taking to
renew EAD?

Thanks

sniggie,

Could you tell us why your spouse got an interview instead of
direct approval.

Thanks

Hi, I will make an attempt at some of your questions. First off, I think it is strange that your wife got an interview and not you especially as you are the primary applicant. Has she been out of status, or any question re the your marriage? Did her finger prints go through with no problem because if not they may have an interview for that reason. Generally, at interview they ask for standard things or maybe specific if they are looking at something in particular. Proof of marriage, original of documents, financial status, etc. If they want something in particular they will ask that it be brought. As for your job, I believe at your wife\'s interview it is possible they will verify if you are still at employer. AS for her EAD if you apply to renew at the INS at least 90 days in advance she is legally covered no matter how long they take to process. I was just approved at a routine Baltimoe interview. Good luck.

Could you please tell me which notice (courtesy copy or original copy) you take to the passport stamp? Is the courtesy copy good enough?
Thank you.

Lorriane,

She was never out of status and as far as I know
her finger prints were not rejected. But there was
an RFE to clarify the TB skin test results and we
sent a clarification from INS app doctor.

My attorney was also puzzled by the the
transfer notice for interview for dependent
and called INS vermont but of no avail.

wu_18,

I took original notice and IIO asked for
the notice, I-94s (one on H1-B and another one
from last time I entered US), and two
photographs.
I am not sure whether courtesy copy is ok.

Good luck
