Finallly my 485 approved yesterday. Still no change in dependent petition. Thank you every one on this great forum..

Yes. INS send the name check request for both me and my wife in May 2005. After my case became current in last april, I contacted my senator who contacted FBI. I think after that FBI cleared my name check and I received the approval.

My wife name check is still pending.

CONGRATULATIONS!...how do you contact the senator is this over phone,e-mail or mail if it is a written request is there any specific format. I appreciate your feedback

Customer Service @ TSC told me..

--What is your 485 Received Date, AP/EAD Approved Date, FP Date etc?
I am on my second EAD now. 485 was applied in April 2005. FP (Code 3) was completed in June 2005. Recently had FP (Code 2) was done for EAD. Last week applied for 2nd AP.

Congratulations !! Could you please tell that when did you find out that your namecheck was pending (approximately when did you call TSC)..just trying to get an idea how long it was pending before it was cleared

Contacted Senator - March 2006

Did the senator contact FBI or USCIS?

When you approached Senator, did they contact FBI or USCIS?

I am presuming requesting them to contact FBI would be more helpful
 
How to tell Senator to contact FBI?

Hi Kishore_s,

I recently contacted my local senator carefully requesting them (in the mail) to contact FBI in regard to my FBI Name Check for my pending I-485 application with USCIS...I also gave them the Immigration Privacy Form as well

I spoke to them and they said they contacted USCIS..,

When I re-approached them, if they can contact FBI, they point blank refused saying, USCIS may contact FBI/CIA etc...hence, it's difficult for them to go through anybody other than USCIS...

Did you try somthing different to make them contact FBI?

With my experience it varies from senator to senator. Each office has their own policy.When I contacted congressman initially I got the same answer. We only contact USCIS but not FBI. Then I tried Senator's office where they are willing to contact FBI. I suggest keep trying different offices in your area.
