Hello,
Just recd notice saying that I485 application has been approved. Prior to receiving your permanent resident card you may be reqd to report for biometrics processing.Please do not take any action at this time.If u are reqd to report for this processing,you will receive another notice advising you of the date,time and location to appear.
Please could u tell me wat action can I take cause I need to travel to India urgently.

If you have done FP code 3 in the last 12 (or 15?) months, then you won't need to take any action; typically the card is mailed within 10 days of approval.

So do u think I can travel once I receive the card or do I still need to go for FP and passport stamping.
 
If its really urgent ...... do what I did ...!!!

Get an InfoPass appointment. Take this notice and your passport to the locals USCIS office and have I-551 stamp on your PP. Good for Travelling.

It may take a month for the cards.
 
Thanks Cheekoo,will definitely try this. Its very urgent to travel. I hope I get the stamp.
Will they do the biometrics too, or that is later.
 
Finally got the stamp on pp. Thanks for the advise Cheekoo. Went to the office and they said I need to wait till I receive the letter for biometrics. I said it was urgent to travel so they stamped the passport with I 551.
The officer took my Ead card and the approval notice. Thats fine, right.

And also its ok to travel. Wat if they send a letter for biometrics and I am not in town ,can I take another date .
