My five years, one month wait for the GC is over.

PD 6/96
I140 5/2000
I485 RD 5/2000 ND 6/7/2000 RFE 5/21/2001 reply sent 6/15;
AVM on RFE changed 6/22 and AD 6/26/2001
Passport stamped in Hartford 7/10/2001
Waited 1 hr for being called (went in at 8:15)
Nice lady looked at the passports, removed I94s and stamped the I551
stamp in the passport.

I was on the "lucky list" - at least for the 485 - though I cant say I was lucky overall. Closer to 12 months than 18 months. Also lucky to have a good employer - treats people reasonably well by any standard.

Uncertainty is gone now ! Thats a relief.

enjoy your freedom my friend. 5 years is a long wait but i am glad you came through after all. the uncertainity part is definately a factor till you get it but right now i am sure you are on top of the world. congratulations.

Congratulations on your GC. It certainly is a great feeling to successfully get through the sort of ordeal you have been through. Enjoy your post-GC life.

Also, can you indicate what the RFE was about ? My RFE was received by the INS on the 20th of June, 2001 and till date I have heard nothing more on it. Would appreciate your response.

Its good that your loooooooong wait is over. You must have heard President Bush made a comment about completing the GC process in 6 months.... Whom is he kidding..............
